It's T Day. The troops from Great Lakes arrive for a little R and R and are met with a warm welcome at the American Legion.

A little snack, coffee and a sweet roll, will serve to get them through till dinner is served.

Director Roger make sure everyone has the words for some of the songs. The Arlingtones alway like to include the audience as part of the program.

When the mayor of Arlington Heights and the Rear Admiral in charge of Great Lakes both speak to the troops, they pay close attention (especially to the Admiral).

They also were attentive as the Legion presented a ceremony in honor of Amercans who had made the ultimate sacrifice.

The commander of the American Legion welcomes them and explains the ceremony to them.

With the conclusion of the ceremony, the troops look fowad to the Arlingtones (and wonder just when was the turkey going to be served).

The Arlingtones, directed by Roger Turek, perform for the sailors.

What can possibly be better than having the troops entertain themselves. There was a lot of talent/enthusiasm exhibited by the performers and they were well received by their peers in the audience.

Music alone, with sudden charms,

Can bind the wand'ring sense and calm the troubled mind.

             William Congreve (1629-1730)

The Chordmasters sing about a hazard of mall shopping which is basically unknown. The song was considered a publlc service anouncement.
